Open your details again and change it. The correction is what travels; nothing is rewritten behind you.

One tap on that screen, any day. It takes effect immediately.
- Take your conversation answers out
Say so, and your answers are excluded from the next round's totals. Published totals already counted cannot be un-counted, and this page says so rather than pretending.
- Have all of it exported, or deleted
Ask HR. It works the same whatever your company is paying, and it is not a favour.

8 days will simply go on 31 March. Nothing is written off yet: this is what happens if nobody takes them.

Does not carry over — and that is not something to use up. It is there if you need it.
