Who can do what
One question per action: can this be undone without anybody outside the company noticing?
Not who you are — what the action costs. A model that forbids what a head just verbally authorised gets routed around within a week, and the moment it does the records are wrong. Every line below says what Amol can do right now, and where the answer is no it names the person to ask rather than telling anybody to contact an administrator.
A permission that is always granted is a queue
Granted 3 times out of 3. A permission that is always given is a queue, not a control — should Priya simply have it?
Corto raises it rather than letting forty roles accumulate that nobody understands and nobody dares change.
Anyone in scope
Can be undone with an edit, and nobody outside ever knew. Locking these buys almost nothing and costs speed all day.
- Update a deal — stage, next step, notesAmol can
An edit fixes it and nobody outside ever knew. Locking this is how a CRM goes stale.
- Assign or move a piece of workAmol can
Wrong owner? Change it. The record says who moved it.
- Add a step or a person to a projectAsk Vinod Shirke
The head owns the shape of the work. Anybody may PROPOSE one — the person doing it usually notices the gap first.
- Raise a request on the deskAmol can
Asking for a laptop is not a privilege.
- Claim an expenseAmol can
Asking for your money back costs nothing until somebody approves it.
The named person — or provisionally, and confirmed after
Money moves, or a record about a person changes. Real, but recoverable inside the company.
- Approve a purchase requestAmol can, provisionally — Vinod Shirke confirms
Money will leave once the PO is raised; the head of the unit that asked says yes first.
- Approve leaveAmol can, provisionally — Ganesh Bhosale confirms
It changes a person's ledger and their team's week.
- Approve an expense claimAmol can, provisionally — Ganesh Bhosale confirms
Money leaves. A manager's yes is the first step, not the payment.
- Release the payment runAsk whoever holds it
This is the step where money actually moves, and it is finance's alone.
- Set or change somebody's goalAmol can, provisionally — Vinod Shirke confirms
It is what a person will be measured on, and they have to see it before it applies.
- Approve a hireAsk whoever holds it
Headcount is the one number that never comes back down on its own.
The named person, and no shortcut
Somebody outside the company sees it, and it cannot be unsent.
- Raise a purchase orderAsk Vinod Shirke
A PO is a promise to a supplier; the purchase head makes it.
- Approve a discount above five per centAsk Vinod Shirke
The customer is told a price. You cannot quietly take it back.
- Commit a delivery date to a customerAsk Vinod Shirke
Somebody outside plans their own week around it.
- Sign off that goods are fit to sendAsk Vinod Shirke
It leaves the building. If it is wrong, the customer finds out and not us.
- Send a message outside the companyAmol can
It cannot be unsent, and your name is on it (Law 5).
Nobody, whatever anybody says
Reading something about another person. Laws 4 and 6, and there is no delegation path here at all.
- Read another person's X-Ray answersNobody can
Nobody can. Not their manager, not the founder, not with anybody's permission — the answers are only ever a group figure (Law 4).
- See what somebody is paidNobody can
Held in payroll, not here. Corto does not have it to give.
- See a person's own goal before they haveNobody can
A person sees their own data first. Always (Law 6).
What has been handed over, and why
Today a head says “you handle it” and nothing anywhere records that they did. This is the same sentence, written down.
